FLORIDA MARRIAGE LICENSE


INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLYING FOR FLORIDA MARRIAGE LICENSE VIA MAIL
(ONLY FOR FLORIDA MARRIAGES)

1. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to apply for marriage license through the mail.

2. Only applicants who are 18 years of age must furnish a certified copy of their birth certificate.

3. No blood test is required by the State of Florida

4. The fee for the marriage license through the mail is $225. This fee includes the statutory fee for the license, Federal Express charges and a processing fee. (Additional Federal Express fee of $25 will apply for couples coming from foreign countries.)

5. Additional fees will apply if the license application is submitted to us within 30 days of the wedding date.
A money order for this fee must be submitted with the "Information Sheet Prior to Application." 
This money order is payable to: A Wedding For You, Inc.

6. If you have been previously married (and it ended by either divorce or death), you must provide the exact date the marriage ended. We do not need the divorce papers or death certificate.

7. After the "Information Sheet Prior to Application" with money order is received in this office:

a. The original application for a marriage license will be brought to the courthouse to be typed.
b. The marriage license will be sent to the Bride and Groom to appear before a Notary Public for their signatures.
c. The marriage license must then be returned to us IMMEDIATELY so that the courthouse can validate it.
d. If you will be married by A Wedding For You, the license will remain in our office until wedding date. 
e. If you will be married by someone else, the license will be returned to you after it has been issued by the courthouse.

8. The marriage license is valid for 60 days from the date that it is issued (signed off) by the clerk's office. Please do not submit the application before 90 days prior to your wedding date. 
Please contact our office if your wedding is within 30 days of application.

9. If you have any questions concerning the processing of this application, please direct them to this office.

10. A certified copy of the marriage license will be sent to you approximately 21 working days after the wedding.

11. Not available for Florida residents. Florida residents must apply for their marriage license in person due to a three-day waiting period for Florida residents.
